Refund Policy

The following information applies to Brown County Parks Department activities and facility rentals.


Shelters & Grounds:

A shelter refers to an open-air or enclosed structure reserved through the Department. Grounds refers to a designated area of ground rented for private use.

  1. Dates may not be changed for reservations and all rental payments are non-refundable.

Rentals:

A rental refers to supplies provided by the department for your event or activity. Examples of a rental include: snowshoes, tables, chairs, decorative arch, grills, tents, lighting, etc.
  1. If the rental is activity based, such as snowshoes, ball diamond or similar and the event is cancelled by department staff due to environmental limitations and/or hazards in regard to possible damage to the property a full refund will be provided.
  2. Other rentals, such as tables, chairs, lights, grills, tents, decorative arch, or similar event based items are non-refundable and the dates may not be changed.

Public Programs:

Individuals canceling a reservation where payment has been made will not be refunded, unless the program is canceled by staff due to environmental limitations (weather, wind chill, etc.). In which case a full refund will be applied.

School Programs at Barkhausen:

Schools canceling programs (unless due to weather emergencies/school closings) will be charged a $50 cancellation fee per reservation day unless cancellations are made at least two weeks ahead of time, where a full refund will be applied. This will enable us to better accommodate schools on our extensive waiting list.

Camping:

Camping locations at Bay Shore Park and the Fairgrounds are handled on a first come first serve basis. Camping reservations are also available on-line for Bay Shore Park. A minimum of a two-night reservation is required with the exception of holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Labor Day weekends and July 4th) where a three-night reservation is required.
  1. Camping reservations are non-transferable, non-refundable and the date may not be changed. All reservations are final.
